Amy bronwen zemser biography sampler list

Amy Bronwen Zemser. I was about nine when my fourth-grade teacher put a list of random words on the blackboard and told us to write a one-page story about them. Mine was about a worm that drowned in a puddle. I can still remember the look of horror and fascination on the faces of my classmates and my teacher as I read it aloud.

Even back then, I figured this was a good thing, so I decided to stick with it. The book received rave reviews, even garnering a write-up in the New York Times. I was twenty-eight years old.
